Psychologist

Psychology is the study of the mind and human behaviour in a range of situations. This includes individual and group behaviour. The mind is a complex and powerful tool which controls the way we think, act and feel and continues to exert a fascination with psychologists and other related professionals.

A psychologist is a qualified and trained professional who studies human behaviour as a means to understanding the mind and how it functions. Many psychologists specialise in a particular area, for example, cognitive psychology, and devote years of study to this.

They use counselling and therapies, e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to treat a range of psychological disorders which include anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and schizophrenia.

Role of a psychologist at Harley Street

Our psychologists have significant experience in their field, combined with high level skills and qualifications. They use the latest therapies to treat a range of mental health problems, often caused by stress and the pressures of day to day living.

These therapies are delivered in a friendly, sympathetic and objective manner where the emphasis is on the patient and their wellbeing. The aim is to encourage the development of coping strategies which the patient can use in difficult or stressful situations.

Our psychologists can help whatever the circumstances.
